Village Baptist Church AWANA Program

The most educational fun a kid can have!

This Club program for children ages 3 through 6th grade is based on II Timothy 2:15: Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed. The idea of an approved workman is of a child learning God’s Word in a fun and exciting manner, so as to instill in them a love and trust of Christ as their Lord.

The AWANA program at Village is led by:

• AWANA Commander: Pastor Wes Pavy
• Asst AWANA Commander/Game Leader: Tom Lampo
• AWANA Secretary: Sandy Lampo

The age group classifications of the AWANA program are:

• 3 & 4 year olds, (Cubbies) led by Amanda Meyers and Diane Plack
• Age 5 to 2nd grade, (Sparks) led by Cathy Buckles and Marie Plack
• 3rd through 6th grade girls (Truth & Training Club) led by Linda Dean, Elaine Roller and Cathy Gilpin
• 3rd through 6th grade boys, (Truth & Training Club) led by Russell Dean, Chris Bruce and Zach Johnson

Children enjoy the following activities during AWANA Club meetings:

• Workbook Time, when each child has the opportunity to earn badges for their uniform by completing sections in their individual workbooks
• Council Time, a challenging presentation of Biblical stories that encourage each child to put their trust in God
• Game Time, an exciting time of group participation in new and innovative games that allow for physical exercise and social interaction
